ABOUT

SPINFLUENCE

The What...

For more than two years, COVID-19 (and future variants) shut down most public fundraising events and activities across Aotearoa.

Only now are charitable entities and employers thinking about what type of fun, challenging events can they put on for the general public, or their staff, to promote team building, health & wellbeing activities as part of their workplace development in a fun setting.

The Focus ...

To help employers understand their obligations when it comes to ensuring their staff feel safe, protected and have access to relevant support if they need help in going about their daily lives & activities

The Charitable Cause…

SPINFLUENCE is a fun, challenging employer-based event, designed to help influence positive change and create a better pathway forward for our disadvantaged youth. Help us to break the cycle of inequity!

HOW IT

WILL WORK

THE TEAMS

add remove

As an employer, you have the opportunity to register a team(s) for this physical activity fundraising event. There will be a maximum of 40 teams. Each Team can have up to 7 riders.

Companies can register a team(s) between now and the day of the event (the earlier you register, the better chance of getting a bike in a prime position). From the date of registration, you will be able to appoint a Team Captain and up to 7 team members (in total). The earlier you register, the more time you will have as a company/team to fundraise to help promote this fabulous charitable cause. You will be able to create your Team Ride Strategy, choose your uniforms, create your team theme in preparation for the big day!

Note: 60% of the team must be ‘employees’ of the company. The rest (40%) can be ring-ins, expert riders, family and/or friends.

THE FUNDRAISING

add remove

Between now and event day (25th September 2024), each team will be expected to do some additional fundraising for this charitable event.

The Fundraising Target for each team is $3,500 (e.g. if 7 team members, that’s only $500 each, over the 3 month period leading up to this event), but please don’t stop there! The more you raise (as individuals and as a team) the more you are helping this great charitable cause (and the opportunity to earn some fabulous incentives and prizes)

ON THE DAY

add remove

When teams arrive (from 8:00am), the Auditorium of the B:HIVE will be set up with 40 incredible Body-Bike spin bikes, one for each of the 40 corporate teams that have registered for the event. A SPINFLUENCE staff member will show teams to their allocated bikes, where they will be able to set up and prepare for the event.

Teams will start their ride at 10:00am, interchanging riders (based on their strategic ride plan) throughout the event. The team that completes the most kilometres at the end of the 6hrs (finishing at 4:00pm) will be crowned the overall winner.

During this 6hr event, teams will ride to 100 (6hrs) of the best party music videos of the 80s & 90s through to present day up on two large, LED screens at the front of the auditorium. We expect lots of singing and dancing from teams throughout the challenge.

Some of Australasia’s finest SPIN Instructors will be up on stage throughout the day to energise and motivate the teams, with ‘real-time’ data from each of the spin bikes being projected up onto the LED screens at the bottom and top of each hour to show how each team is performing.

Our MC will also be walking around the auditorium to interview the teams and provide support and encouragement for all.

We are also expecting News Crews from two television channels to be present during the day to cover this ‘good news’ story – so make sure you bring your best and most enthusiastic attitude – you just might be riding and singing to millions!
